Overview

This course provides students with the key skills needed to install and administer the Red Hat Linux™ operating system.  Hands-on labs emphasize key learning objectives such as users and software administration, vi, basic Linux security, process control, file system maintenance, backup and recovery, and basic networking concepts.

Prerequisites

Students should have an understanding of all basic UNIX commands as well as variable substitution, wild card expansion, command pipes, permissions, & the grep & find commands. These prerequisites can be met through completion of    TN-125: Introduction to UNIX & Linux & six month’s experience with Linux.

This course is for students who wish to master fundamental system administration skills and prepare for the RHCE exam.  This class is also a prerequisite for those who would like to attend
L-295: Linux System Administration II.
